About me

DSC_0205

I’m Ella, the writer of this blog!

I’m an enthusiastic but still very much novice runner. I first started running four years ago, doing Couch to 5k, spent a few years as a happy occasional jogger, and just this year took to running more “seriously” (by which I mean obsessively; I’m never particularly serious when running, or what would be the point?).

I’m now living in Jersey for a year, where I work as a doctor. It’s a very small island and it’d be easy to get stuck in a running rut rather than getting out there and seeing the amazing beauty this place has to offer. This year, I’ve set myself the challenge of running every bit of Jersey’s 350 miles of road, starting my challenge by running the Jersey marathon on October 6th.

Since I don’t have a car or sense of direction and buses become few and far between outside tourist season, I foresee lots of retracing of steps, getting lost (and navigating by the tried and tested method of find-the-coast-and-follow-it-home), stopping for tea and cake, and a year of great fun exploring the island!

  1. Hi Ella, I have really been enjoying your blog and following your mission to see all of Jersey on foot. I’ve therefore nominated you for a Liebster Award, which is really a way of saying that I think your blog is awesome and I hope that other people will have a look at it too! If that sounds like fun to you, you can find out how it works here: http://fullmoonrunner.wordpress.com/2013/10/20/share-the-love-liebster-award-part-1/. Happy running!
